Episurf Medical (Nasdaq: EPIS B) today announces that the company has entered into an advisory agreement with Prof. Doctor João Espregueira-Mendes regarding establishment of the Episealer® knee technology in India and Portugal. The parties will work with a targeted strategy, targeting the orthopaedic communities in the aforementioned countries. Prof. Doctor João Espregueira-Mendes has extensive experience from the global orthopaedic markets and will assist Episurf Medical in key strategic activities.

Prof. Doctor João Espregueira-Mendes is the Clinical Director of Clínica do Dragão – Espregueira-Mendes Sports Center, FIFA Medical Center of Excellence. He is also the Coordinator and Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Minho as well as treasurer of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Prof. Doctor João Espregueira-Mendes currently serves as a member of the board of the Patellofemoral Foundation and FIFA Medical Centers of Excellence. Furthermore, he sits on the Advisory Board of the ESSKA Foundation where he earlier served as its President between 2012 and 2014. Prof. Doctor João Espregueira-Mendes is a consultant to Futebol Clube do Porto. He has been highly active within the orthopaedic industry having held 714 conferences, published 232 papers, 117 scientific articles in a per-reviewed journals, 78 book chapters and edited 15 books (13 of which international).
